The Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a public meeting in Jefferson City to discuss the Lower Missouri River Basin Flood Risk and Resiliency Study. The study, also called the system plan, aims to address prior flood damage and ways to reduce future risks, according to a news release by the Corps. During 2019 flooding, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri suffered major damage to farms and infrastructure, prompting those states to form a coalition called the Flood Recovery Advisory Working Group.
