Have been interested in BJJ for quite some time. I had last looked into it several months back and couldn't find anything close to home, and was kind of bummed about it. A week or so before Thanksgiving, I stumbled across Gracie Barra Jefferson City. They had recently opened up. I stopped in and the owners / coach were very inviting. They explained how everything works and within a day I found myself and 3 children (14, 10, 9) all out for age appropriate classes to try. The environment is definitely family friendly, and focuses on developing strength and knowledge. in a respectful and inviting atmosphere. I have only been around since November but they have already made an adjustment to the schedule to better accommodate the student growth and keep the classes grouped such that they facilitate the best possible learning environment the kids based on their age. They also added a Women's class on Monday nights that my oldest really enjoys. I highly recommend that anyone who thinks they might be interested, check them out.
